Day 86 - December 17th - a special invitation to peace

Scripture:

Colossians 4:6 Let your conversation be gracious and attractive so that you will have the right response for everyone.

Prayer:

Thank you, God, for the gift of conversation. I pray for the meetings I have scheduled today. I lift up [NAME] so that I can speak with them in a way that feels like a gift. I pray for the unscheduled interactions with people at a store, in the street, or another unexpected encounter. I pray that every conversation I have with someone will leave them with the feeling of being loved. Give me courage to speak truth with love, say words to empower people, and to be gracious with words to heal and encourage them. Help me to be fully my authentic self.

Invitation:

I want to invite you to spend a moment simply noticing anything else that is on your heart–especially if it’s something from today’s reading and time of prayer. Lift this up to God in faith.

Gratitude:

In closing, pause to thank God for how he’s at work in your heart and life. Acknowledge his presence with you during your time of prayer today.

In Jesus’ name. Let it be so. Thank you, LORD. Amen.
