Oh, my gosh…so much JOY that I share with you that my third collection of poetry finally got to go to print…Success! Poems For My People: Community, Volume 3 has ACTUALLY been published.
I thought it’d be out a whole year ago in September 2023. But, as one of my writing friends often reminds me, writing takes as long as it needs. So…I’m going to be celebrating for a while!
Because…it’s finally here (!!!) and available to purchase online via other online bookshops as ebook and hardcover as of November 30, 2024.
When I officially ordered my own personal copies I cried. Such an accomplishment.
If you want a signed-by-me-the-author copy, buy my book here. :) Otherwise it’s available via online bookshops—or, ask your local independent bookstore to order you a copy!
Here's a photo with my personal typewriter poet view whenever I’ve been out poetry busking at Yellow Bike Coffee in Duluth, Minnesota.

Oh, and if you weren’t sure why I call it “the yellow book” it’s because it’s the third in a series of Poems For My People. I’m creating a rainbow of a collection—because I thought it’d look amazing on your bookshelf!
As a celebration to share with you that Poems For My People: Community, Volume 3 is (wahoo!!) finally out…here’s a mini-essay, a “Coffee Chat…” Just pretend like we’re sat in a coffee shop together (like Yellow Bike in Duluth) and we’re having a chat about why I’m sat there with my typewriter.
Here’s… “Feeling Curious.” Enjoy!
How do you embrace curiosity?
Ever since I could talk, I was told I talked too much by certain people. But I couldn’t help it. I loved observing the world around me and I embraced a sense of wide-eyed wonderment. I have continued to talk by asking questions. As a coach, I listen a lot–and as a poet. I’ve practiced bravely embracing curiosity and in the process of practicing realized that my creative work as a poet, as a novelist, writer of reflections, as well as a painter–thrives, flourishes.
If I live in fear of talking too much, of asking too many questions, of being too much, my creative work lacks a salty joy. But when I let the curiosity, the awe, the wonder, all out to flow–there’s not only personal freedom that I experience, but then the work I create seems to carry a more potent power of connection with you the reader, with collectors of my artwork. If you want to be more curious, imagine yourself to be five years old (this is how old I generally feel) and just pretend that everything in the world is new and there for you to explore and question.
Find the joy. Enjoy the humor. Question the pains. Embrace curiosity. All of this stuff of creativity is so worth it. So just keep asking, “Why?” and “What if…?” We’re made to be creative, so letting loose to be your creative self will eventually be how you experience true freedom and abundance in all areas of your life. But really, just express your creative self and then see what happens–do it again and again. Eventually your curiosity will be stronger and embracing curiosity will be second nature for you. May you find joy and beauty in this growth process!
Yellow Bike Coffee has been hosting me as Typewriter-Poet-in-Residence for two years and has made space for the writing of poems in each of the red, orange, and now, yellow collections, Poems For My People: Community, Volumes 1, 2, and 3. I’ve written and shared a couple hundred poems with Duluthians and visitors alike who have strode through Yellow Bike Coffee’s doors.
The impression Shannon, her team, and their beans have left on me is deeper than a coffee stain, more beautiful than a perfectly poured cup of latte art, more invigorating than a shot of pure espresso…and, it is so much fun!
I hope and pray you experience some of this in the pages of Poems For My People: Community, Volume 3. It truly is a special collection.
With lots of poetry love,
I wish you very happy reading!
Molly
